🏐IVB Hobby Club RY – Rules & Guidelines

Overview

Let's play Volleyball! This group is for adults who enjoy playing Volleyball game as a hobby,

while striving for better discipline, structure, and skill improvement. Our goal is to create an enjoyable but organized playing environment where all members contribute to the quality of the game. This group is specifically for non-beginner Volleyball plyers who are interested in compitative play.

To ensure fairness, sportsmanship, and progression, we have established the following rules.

Every member is expected to follow these rules to maintain a respectful and enjoyable volleyball community.

Amendments to rules – Club rules may be updated or amended as needed, with notice provided to all members. Members are expected to comply with the updated rules once notified.

General conduct

βœ… Respect everyone – Treat teammates, opponents, and organizers with respect. No excessive arguing or negative attitudes.
βœ… Follow the club’s structure – Sessions will include warm-ups, drills, and games.
❌ No excessive talking during games – Keep casual chatting to breaks or before/after the session. Stay focused during play.

Attendance & commitment

βœ… RSVP in advance – Club uses Playerlineup for members' attendance – You should mark/update your availability status regularly to ensure proper planning.

If you can’t make it, inform the group at least 24 hours before to allow adjustments.
βœ… Be punctual – Arrive on time. Late arrivals disrupt drills and gameplay.
βœ… Consistent participation – Members are expected to regularly take part in both drills and games to improve their skills.

❌ Outsiders are not allowed – Unless otherwise agreed upon in advance, only current club members can participate in sessions.

Training & drills

βœ… Warm-ups are mandatory – Every session starts with warm-ups to prevent injuries.
βœ… Drills before games – All players must participate in drills before playing full matches.
βœ… Skill development – Members should actively try to improve their game, not just play casually.

βœ… Indoor shoes are mandatory – Players must wear non-marking indoor sports shoes to protect the playing surface and ensure safety.
❌ Skipping drills and only playing matches – This is discouraged as it affects skill development and team discipline.

Game etiquette

βœ… Fair play always – No cheating, bad calls, or arguing over points. Respect the referee/decision-makers.
βœ… Keep the game moving – Limit delays, unnecessary discussions, and distractions during play.
βœ… Positive communication – Encourage teammates instead of criticizing mistakes.

βœ… Player rotation is mandatory – To ensure fairness, all players will take turns in different positions unless otherwise agreed upon.

Conflict resolution

βœ… Resolve disputes calmly – Any issues should be discussed during the breaks or after the session, not during play.
βœ… Final decision by club leadership – If disagreements persist, the club board has the final say.
❌ No fighting or disrespect – Any repeated misconduct may lead to temporary suspension or removal from the club.

Membership fees

βœ… Determined annually by the board – Membership fees will be decided by the board members of the club during the annual meeting and will be announced to the club before the beginning of the new season.

βœ… Membership fees are non-refundable – Once paid, the membership fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, including voluntary withdrawal or removal due to rule violations.
βœ… Fees support the club – Payments go towards venue rental, equipment, and other club expenses.

Insurance & liability

βœ… Players are responsible for their own insurance – The club is not liable for any injuries, medical expenses, or related costs.
βœ… Play at your own risk – Volleyball is a physically demanding sport, and members participate at their own discretion.

Core team selection

βœ… The board selects a core team – A group of 10 committed players will be chosen based on:

  • Skill level

  • Motivation

  • Discipline and attitude

βœ… Competitive play – The core team will represent IVB Hobby Club RY in matches against other clubs.
βœ… Ongoing evaluation – The board can modify the core team at any time based on performance and commitment.
❌ No automatic spots – Membership in the club does not guarantee a place in the core team.

Conclusion

βœ…The club’s goal is to improve skills while maintaining a structured and fun environment.

βœ…Feedback is welcome, but changes will be decided by the board.

βœ…Everyone is responsible for upholding these rules – let's make IVB Hobby Club RY a great volleyball community!
